Queens Public Library has one of the largest collections of primary and secondary resources documenting Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), Nassau, and Suffolk counties. The Digital Archives team at Queens Library is working to digitize and catalog the library's extensive local history collections. The Digital Archives team is also helping local organizations and individuals in Queens to scan and catalog materials they own and wish to share on the Digital Archives website.

This community archiving work is done in collaboration with the Queens College, CUNY under the auspices of the Queens Memory Project. Queens Memory collaborates with community members to collect personal histories, images, and other records of life in the borough of Queens. These materials get a permanent home in the Queens Public Library’s Digital Archives. Staff and volunteers showcase collection highlights on the Gallery page of the Queens Memory website.
