I always have that smile, when someone approaches me with a question, whether I'm at the desk or walking around, I totally appreciate working with the children, teens, or adults. They all appreciate the work I given them. I also proctor many students over the years, which have come back or called to let me know they have graduated. And it's because of the library and the help they received and what they did to earn it. I have covered both children training, teen training and adult reference work. I also encourage staff to further their education if possible, and if they choose to move up in a better position to be a librarian or in another position, they should apply. If they don't get through at the first interview, they should not give up. Just keep trying eventually they will get the feel of being interviewed and how to answer the questions correctly. I am always encouraging staff to climb higher in this organization. By going to work everyday and helping our customers whether it's a homeless person or mentally challenged individual, everyone deserves to be treated fairly. They both encouraged motivate and inspired me to become librarian When I started. (today, managers are called Community Library Manager,) and Mr. Seale, also a librarian, encouraging, motivating and inspiring me to become a librarian. All the staff members that I worked with were one big family. I attended York College and graduated, with a cum laude in political science. And I was weighing whether I should go to law school or should I just become a Librarian. I chose the latter. I was accepted at both St John's and Queens College. I went to St. John's for the first year, thought the classes were too hard and then matriculated to Queens college that was even harder and matriculate back to St. Johns and graduated in 1997. I transferred from Lefferts to Ozone Park to Bayside as a librarian trainee., and was asked to be transferred to Cataloging Division to finish some of my classes on Saturdays for my graduation. Then the lay offs came, I went to Central, Catalog Division and back to other Branches and was asked to be an interim BLM at South Hollis for sometime, that was when Ms. Baab was there.
