The role of Hip Hop in activism and politics is also discussed as panelists talk about Hip Hop's influence and connections to social isssues and politics.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePart 4: Switch the Style Up: Fashion in Hip Hop\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\u003cp\u003eThis section of the Summit will pay homage to the leaders and trends of Hip Hop fashion.Panelists share their personal connections to Hip Hop fashion and discuss its evolution from bell bottoms in the 1970s to the rise of Black entrepreneurs, and the commercialization of the fashion in the 90s and the 2000s, with artists like Jay-Z and Sean Combs promoting luxury brands like Gucci and Versace. Hip hop fashion has had a profound impact on mainstream culture. Long Island Hip Hop fashion designer Malik Dupri provides closing remarks to the panel.
