We have, lots of schools there, public schools. We also have, private religious schools and we do have lots of students of all ages coming and visiting us. Right now, of course, the library is closed due to the pandemic. We have been closed since March of last year and the good news is that Douglaston will reopen to the public on April 24th, I believe. Anyway, the staff is going to start there, on April 14th and we'll have one week to prepare and then we'll reopen for a limited grab-and-go service in the beginning, but scaled. So that's, that's exciting. We're all excited and I'm sure customers are excited even more. I personally started in Queens Library in 2007. I was a reference librarian. I was informational languages librarian. Uh, I am originally from Bulgaria, so I speak Bulgarian, I speak Russian; I read some Russian too. And then I was the manager of Kew Gardens Hills. But anyway, that's our next plan for the collection to expand, more, the Chinese and the Korean language collections for them. There's really a big need for that. The community's changing. And then also we are trying to find some programs - and we did plan some and have some with great success, specifically like the China - the Lunar New Year celebrations, you know, the, the, the festivals and things, that are, you know, [inaudible] for the Asian, Chinese and Korean cultures.\n\n","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://queenslibrary.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1432/collection_resources/45666/file/118717#t=782.0,843.0"},{"id":"https://queenslibrary.aviaryplatform.com/collections/1432/collection_resources/45666/file/118717/transcript/30301/annotation/27","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"\nMilena Nenova: So, and that's how we're trying to respond to that need, basically, to provide them with more books. We had lots of Chinese American people coming because the - some of them do speak Chinese, but they were born here and they don't really know how to write and they would like to, and, you know, so we had a lot of people coming for that class. The class was provided by, again, somebody in the community who offered to do it for us for free. So we had a teacher and everything, so we had a 10-session class. So that's how we are trying to change and, you know, respond to the changing community actually. So she - we kept in touch with the teachers there, and again, the kids needed us more than ever with that, mixed - learning at home, learning on site, you know, and the library being closed. So we were able to still provide class visits and talk to them about the library and what kind of resources they can still use so that they don't think that we're completely shut down and, you know, out of business.
