We could see them from our back yard. We live near a busy intersection at the corner of Astoria Boulevard and 33rd Street. Normally it's non-stop traffic humming by or chatter from people in the Burger King parking lot next door but lately, we can hear more birds. When we moved here almost 5 years ago we were lucky to find an apartment with a back yard. Now it's been the only thing keeping us sane while sheltering in place. It's a lot easier to stay in quarantine when you have an outdoor place you can go. I know others aren't so lucky. We share the space with other tenants in the building and yesterday I saw one of our neighbors appreciating some flowers I had planted.
